Babies Birth – Non Walking
We have the exciting opportunity to offer a class for newborn babies. Typically the children in this class are less than a year old and are placed in class according to their development at the beginning of the school year. We are one of the few programs that offer a baby class that is designed to aid in the development of the five senses. We realize that the first year of a child’s life is the most important developmentally. Our teachers strive to care for these children at the highest level while also developing these important skills.
Here are some of the highlights for our baby class.
- Expect a spotless environment where your child can play safely.
- Be prepared for a classroom that is designed for your little one. From the items on the walls to the toys that each child plays with – the room is for this specific age group.
- Colorful, seasonal decorations will change throughout the year.
- You will receive a daily log of your child’s activities including nap times, feeding times, and other important items.
- Teachers in this class have had many years experience and are uniquely gifted to work with babies.
- There are exersaucers, swings, mirrors, sensory centers, pull up bars, and other activities for your growing child to experience.
This is just a very small sample of what to expect in the baby class. As always if you have any questions please contact the Little Sprouts Team for more information. We can be reached at 405.732.1300 or by email at preschool@firstsouthern.tv
Toddlers
Walking well – not quite 2 years old
As children grow they begin to explore the world around them. Colors become brighter, sounds become more clear, and they become more curious about the world around them . The Toddler class here at Little Sprouts is specifically tailored for children who are in “discovery” mode. Typically the children in the toddler class are walking well, and able to sit at a table to eat. Our teachers understand the importance of discovery in a classroom setting. All lessons, table times, arts and crafts, and stories have the same goal—introducing toddlers to the exciting world.
Here are some things that you can expect for our toddler class.
- A clean environment that is safe for children who are “toddling” as well as those who are walking well.
- Soft climbing objects are available in the class so that each child can explore safely.
- Curriculum that was created specifically towards toddlers and their unique needs.
- Exploration rides on our giant stroller buggies.
- A daily Bible lesson with simple truths that are age-appropriate.
- Arts and crafts which are safe, fun, and exciting.

2 Year Olds
Turn 2 by September 1st 2008
The two year old class at Little Sprouts is the introduction to the classroom environment. It is at this point that two year olds will be introduced to structured centers, daily routines, and purposeful, constructive free play. Children in the 2 year old class will have turned two by September 1st. We realize that developmentally each child is different so our teachers are prepared for many different development levels. The classroom is built around the principle that at 2 years of age discovery turns to interaction.
Here is a sample of what you might expect in the 2 year old class:
Table centers that revolve around the day’s theme.
- Activities that increase speech, motor skills, and hand-eye coordination.
- A classroom environment that is fun, safe, comfortable, and familiar.
- Daily routines that children can expect every day.
- A colorful classroom that invites active learning and fun.
- Simple physical education that is specifically tailored for 2 year olds.
- Arts and crafts time that coincides with daily theme.
Of course, this is simply the beginning of what will be offered in our two year old class. If you have any questions please call us at 405.732.1300 or email us at preschool@firstsouthern.tv.
